About the speaker: Rodrigo Neiva, DDS, MS

Dr. Rodrigo Neiva DDS MS currently heads the Department of Periodontics at Penn Dental Medicine as Chairman and Clinical Professor of Periodontics.

Dr. Neiva earned a Certificate and a Master’s Degree in Periodontics from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry.

He was appointed Clinical Associate Professor in 2009 in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry.

In 2017, he was awarded full Clinical Professorship at the University of Florida, a position he held until his official transition to Penn Dental Medicine as Chairman of Periodontics in September 2019.

Consistently recognized for his commitment to excellence in academic dentistry, Dr. Neiva has received numerous teaching awards throughout his career.

He is a Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the American College of Dentists, as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.

Dr. Neiva currently serves as Board Examiner for the American Board of Periodontology and was, most notably, elected the youngest Board Director ever in the history of the organization.
