This lecture aims to discuss the condition of medication related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). Dentists have significant fear around the condition and this lecture will aim to address these concerns. Mr Patel will provide information regarding all aspects of MRONJ for the general dentists such as basic knowledge of the drugs implicated, risk assessment and prevention when extractions are required.

Consultant Oral Surgeon, Guys & St Thomas Hospital (London, UK)

Mr Patel completed his specialist training in Oral Surgery at Guys & St Thomas Hospital. He successfully gained his CCST and specialist registration on the Oral Surgery list in 2014 and appointed as a consultant in 2016. He completed his PhD in 2020 and has a MSc in clinical oncology.
