Dr. Michal Halperin-Sternfeld DMD, PhD
Dr. Michal Halperin-Sternfeld is a Senior lecturer and researcher at the Maurice and Gabriela Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine, Tel Aviv University, in the Departments of Periodontology and Oral Biology. She earned her D.M.D. magna cum laude from Tel Aviv University, followed by an M.Sc. in Medical Sciences and a Ph.D. focused on peptide-based hydrogels for bone regeneration.
A specialist in periodontology, Dr. Halperin-Sternfeld completed fellowships and visiting scholar positions at Harvard, Columbia, the University of Michigan, and Northwestern University. Her interdisciplinary research integrates biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and immunomodulation, resulting in two patents and numerous high-impact publications. She actively mentors graduate and postgraduate students and serves on academic committees. Dr. Halperin-Sternfeld is a member of the IADR, EFP, and the Israeli Society of Periodontology, and a frequent speaker at international dental and biomaterials conferences.
