Lecture and hands-on course: The Contemporary Management of Ridge Defects, October 12th 2023

Alpha Omega had the pleasure of visiting the Dentsply Sirona Headquarters last month to hear from the world-renowned Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr Rodrigo Neiva.

The day started with a presentation on the fundamental principles of guided bone regeneration, commencing with the important science behind the procedure and the evolution of different graft /membrane materials and properties.

There was a practical focus throughout with Professor Neiva demonstrating modern techniques and flap designs.

In the afternoon we were able to translate this into a practical exercise on pig jaws.

This was a fantastic, enjoyable day, with a great lecturer, and great facilities and organisation. Looking forward to the next!
