Shalom David, Andrew, and honorable AO-London Trustees,
On behalf of the Dental Volunteers for Israel Board of Directors, I wish to express our appreciation for your kind donation of $5,546, for a dental chair which has now been installed – pictured here, with this week’s volunteer dentists from Kentucky and Toronto! Alpha Omega London is on the plaque of this chair!
Now more than ever, DVI is so appreciative to have you as a partner in providing free dental care. During the war, our doors at DVI have remained open and have been treating many underprivileged people, including hundreds of the displaced. Patient after patient tells us how they have such good feelings when they come to DVI, not only because of the wonderful dental care they receive, but also because DVI is a place where they feel cared for by our empathetic staff.
Every year DVI reaches thousands of Jerusalem's at-risk population, in addition to providing free dentures to needy elderly. Even though this is a huge accomplishment, we want to do more to help our most vulnerable citizens in the midst of war. That is why we are offering free dental care to all children and emergency services to people of all ages who were forced to leave their homes in the south and the north to keep safe.
DVI is the most cost-efficient free non-profit, with our dentists' time, equipment and supplies all donated, enabling DVI to maintain high standards on a shoe-string budget. In 2023 DVI provided $1,035,947 (3,729,410 NIS) worth of care to youth, and $225,000 (810,000 NIS) to elderly, though its cash expenditures were only $650,840 (2,343,021 NIS) and ALL patients received 100% free care!
B’Kavod Rav (with Great Respect),
Michelle Levine
