This will be relevant for all those in the dental field from the newly qualified to more experienced practitioners.
Ask yourself these questions:
Older dentists…is retirement all that you expected?
Students and newly qualified: Do you feel prepared for practice?
Do you feel that the dentistry you are likely to practice is the same as that you expected when you were a student?
How likely do you think it is that you will be reported to the GDC?
What aspect of your practice might result in a complaint? … is this realistic?
Do you feel it may be safer to operate in large organisations such as corporates or in community dentistry?
Do you feel confident in your practical skills after the devastation to training caused by Covid?
Where can I find support for possible burnout symptoms? How can I access help?
Is there a future for me in NHS dentistry? And can I make a decent and ethical living from it?
Come and hear Professor Newton talk about these issues as well as recognise the sources of stress and the evidence of the impact of stress and burnout.
The lecture will take place on Tuesday 22nd November from 18:30 to 21:00 in London at 42 Hallam St, W1W 6NW.
